Screw a two inch weatherproof deck screw into each hole to ensure there is still bite to the hole.
How to reattach plastic siding.
Put the tip into the hole or crack you are filling.
If the shutter was ripped from the house the holes may be stripped.
When the the lip clears the track on the panel underneath it release pressure.
Use a drill with a multi purpose 11 64 inch bit to pre drill holes through the shutter for the screws at each reference mark.
If the screw slips right in fill the hole with wood filler.
Inspect the holes in the house that you will screw the shutter into.
You may want to wait for a warm day when the siding will be softer and more pliable.
After you get the siding loosened reattach the corner piece.
Be careful because older siding can become brittle.
Under normal circumstances vinyl siding should not come loose if it was originally hung.
Vinyl siding is installed from the bottom up.
First remove the corner piece then slide the zip tool under the siding and loosen it up.
Press the trigger of the caulk gun until the hole is filled and the caulk emerges slightly from the hole.
Work down the panel using your hand and the siding tool in this way until the panel has completely snapped back together.
Using metal screws with painted heads is an alternate method to install exterior shutters on all types of siding stucco and masonry.
Insert your caulk into the caulk gun and cut off its tip.
At the same time use your hand to push the panel onto the upper locking edge of the panel beneath it.
Slide the tool to within 6 inches of the end of the panel and pull the handle toward you forcing the buttlock open.
Remove the siding in the reverse of how it was installed.
Be sure to leave about 1 8 of the nail exposed to allow the siding to flex.
How to retack siding step 1.
The panels should reattach easily.
Use it to grab the locking edge of the loose panel and pull downward.
