Hi guys and welcome to my video.
How to repair a flat shed roof.
I had to re felt my shed roof so i though i d share with you the process i went through and the materials i used.
The amount of time required to repair as shed roof is on a par with building a new one and the cost of materials less than 1 10th.
Tools and materials budget grade shed roofing felt felting clout nails ladder hammer screwdriver stanley knife an occasional extra pair of hands.
Instead of replacing the felt roof we decided to use a product call.
Shed build time lapse.
Also when purchasing a new shed it is worth considering the repair factor 15 years down the line.
A tar and gravel roof can be repaired by applying tar to the damage using the caulk gun smoothing it with the putty knife or brush and covering the tar with reinforcing mesh followed by a layer of gravel.
The underlayment will not need to be bonded to the roof as this will allow for movement without causing damage to the asphalt.
If you have a small spit or hole in a shed roof it can also be repaired with the felt adhesive mentioned above.
In this video i show you the basics of roofing.
Ensure the mating surfaces is clean and dry they apply adhesive to the damaged area and the underside of the repair patch.
Simply cut a patch of green mineral felt 50mm 2 larger in every direction than the repair requires.
I do this on my shed but these basic principals can be applied to your house as well.
Start at one end of the storage shed roof and lay the underlayment material onto the flat roof surface making sure that there are about 2 inches extra on either end to hang over the edges of the shed s flat roof.
