Get out your new awning fabric and position it over the front of the roller tube. Locate the replacement valances and trim the gray cord to a length of inch on each end. While keeping the fabric reasonably stretched on the roller bar turn the crank wand counter clockwise to slowly roll the fabric onto the roller bar. Tuck the ends of the fabric into the channels that you marked and ensure that it is centered.

Be sure that the hem of the fabric is facing down. Repeat for the other side of the awning. Also make sure that the valance is in the channel you marked with a v. Insert the new valances into the front bars until they stop at the other end.

Remove the front bar from the fabric and place aside for reuse later in reassembly. Insert the cut end of the cord into the fabric slot on the roller bar and the other end of the fabric into the awning rail.
